A Letter From Our Chaplain

Dear Nolan Parents,

As I begin this year at Nolan Catholic, I would like to express both my excitement at my new role as Nolan’s Chaplain, as well as my goals. I am the Vocations Director for the Diocese of Fort Worth, where my primary task has been to help young people get to know Jesus Christ and discern how he is leading them in their lives. As I visit different parishes and meet with many young people I see a profound hunger for meaning, a pining for direction, and a thirst for truth.

On the whole, young people are tired of vague and directionless answers. They want to know the truth and to follow it. The Catholic Church has always taught that Jesus Christ is the answer to these longings. He himself stated that he is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Thus, my goal as Chaplain is to help create an environment where a student can foster their relationship with Jesus Christ, discover how He is leading them, and in following Him, flourish.

During the week, Nolan students will have multiple opportunities to attend the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, confession, and weekly adoration. As chaplain I will also be available to simply be with the students when they are looking for guidance or even just a listening ear. Please be assured of my prayers for your families, and most especially for your children here at Nolan Catholic.

Fr. Brett Metzler,

Chaplain of Nolan Catholic
