Robo Vikes are District Event Winners!

Congratulations to our Robo Vikes robotics team. The won the FIRST in Texas Fort Worth District Robotics Competition last week. The team also earned the Autonomous Award at the contest.

Nolan Catholic High School will hosted the Fort Worth District Robotics Competition, and 31 teams will competed in the event.

The competition was held in Hartnett Arena, and the competition is open to the public.

Robotics students from around the world have been preparing for this year’s contest since January. Each year, robotics students receive a new set of rules, parameters, and requirements for the annual competition. This year, robotics teams had to design a robot that can shoot basketballs into a large goal, and there is also an obstacle course element to the competition, as well.

The Nolan Catholic Robo Vikes just returned from the South Florida Regional Robotics Competition, which was a regional contest consisting of 33 teams from 5 countries. The Nolan Catholic Robo Vikes team finished 3rd overall in the rankings. We were named Regional Finalists and won the Innovation in Control Award.

You can learn more about the competition on the FIRST website (https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/frc) and you can watch a highlight reel of our students competing in Florida using this link: https://drive.google.com/.../1RzPu.../view

Good luck, Robo Vikes! #EstoDux
